Title: Meander Story | Cut Map (2026)
Approximate size: Sequence of four framed drawings.
• Each frame 17” x 24”
Media: Amate bark paper acquired while living in Puebla, Mexico and gouache paint
The four-part collaged drawing is based on a survey map of the Rio Grande El Paso-Juárez Valley from 1924-1923 showing cuts to the river from the “excess” meanders of the United States and Mexico. The far-left panel lists seven historic names of the river cut from the map. The cut letters and cut-out pieces of the river gather like sediment outside of the limits of the frame.
